What We Do

Community Retention Unit (CRU)

The Heartland Center for Behavioral Change Community Retention Unit (CRU) is a 110 bed facility serving the Kansas City Police Department and Municipal Court to house justice involved individuals.

Detainees awaiting court will have shorter stays than those individuals sentenced by the Municipal Court.  The CRU is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends and holidays.
